Long time no see, eh?
Well, you know how it goes. Work. School. Unfun things. Blech.
This is a batch of icons that have been accumulating during the previous school year. A lot of it is just experimental stuff: coloring, cropping, that kind of thing. Others were created using tutorials by other graphics artists in an effort to learn new techniques.
Some I am ridiculously proud of. Others not so much. But I thought I'd share them all. No sense letting it all go to waste, yeah?

I've had some troubles recently with message boarders and GJ users claiming my graphics as their own. My first go at writing an icon tutorial.
Simply because...I was beyond bored this afternoon.
This is basically a tutorial for a style I'm quite fond of. I like it because its fairly simple to make and almost always looks good no matter what picture you use.
We'll be going from  to  :
Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop 7
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Image Heavy?: Yes
Advance Warning: I have a sort of round-a-bout way of making icons. I go back and forth and make snap decisions in the midst of a phase...so my apologies if this is evident in my tutorial.

So. Here's what went down.
Girl buys laptop. Girl falls in love with laptop. Girl teaches herself to make graphics on laptop...
Laptop dies.
Girl is without computer for the entire summer - a summer intended to build a website and make graphics like woah. Girl is sad. Girl comforts herself by flying to L.A. to attend a certain Late Late Show taping with certain awesome friends of hers.
First week of July, Girl hijacks sister's computer (which happens to be void of any PS7 brushes, textures, gradients, or stock images. *gasp*) and makes it her mission to finish the website and make some new icons and desktops.
Mission accomplished. Sure my eyes might be bloodshot and I may smell a little funny...
Below the cut you'll find some Keira Knightley. A little Estella Warren and Kate Winslet. Some staircases and some Phantom of the Opera/Gormenghast icons. I even tried my hand at making some desktops.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers icons? Well...guess you'll have to just click and see. ;)

So I'm moving over the next couple of weeks...not sure about the status of my internet connection, but hopefully I should be getting my new computer within that time.
But go ahead and check out the new website if you fancy... Its a little "amateurish" but keep in mind...I basically taught myself how HTML and CSS (with the help of some good friends and a tutorial or two.) Hopefully in time I can design a really nice layout.
This will do until then. Version 1.0 if you will.

Just a quick update...no graphics. *sad face*
My laptop with Photoshop and all of my work is...down. And will hopefully be up and running within a week or two. Since this is a forced hiatus of sorts, I thought I'd try and finish up work on my website.
I hope to open All That Glitters Graphics early this summer. Muchos thanks to heraliceeyes for providing me with the webspace over at Late-December.net
But I'd like to know what you'd like to see there. So far I plan on featuring:

Banners/Headers

Not an icon update. My apologies.
Let's call it an icon status update:
+ The major news: a deadline for one of my papers has been moved up...thus forcing me to cram. It won't be a terribly long wait for new icons, but it could be as much as a week or so. Just wanted to give a heads-up.
+ The Phantom/Gormenghast series is nearing completion. I'm hesitant to name another set at this point because of the school/work sitch...but I guaran-damn-tee you there will be Elvis icons in the very near future! :)
+ I'm very proud to call  Ophelia's Icons' newest affiliate!
This is my absolute favorite JRM website and I have a tremendous amount of admiration for it. Much love and big thanks to the site's webmistresses frozenwithin and minyafalas!
